Foreign investments in the property sector has started to pick up recently. This can be seen in the multiple big-ticket acquisitions made by Qatar Investment Authority, Manulife and FWD Group with a total of over $5 billions since last year. The notable sales of buildings in Singapore by foreign investors shows that Singapore is a safe haven for capital retention and appreciation during this time of market uncertainty in the US and China.
Foreign investors were rewarded when the market rebounded last year and continued gaining strength this year. Cushman & Wakefield is expecting more foreign investors to inflow to Singapore’s property market as the market continues to gain strength.
